Débo at a glance
Débo Ray is an artist who seeks the light manifested through her music. Born and raised in Boston, MA, Ms. Ray is a graduate of Berklee College of Music. Ms. Ray is known for her many collaborative projects, namely International group Women of the World, Senegalese Afro-beat fusion band Group Saloum, up-and-coming Pop-Jazz group Nikkollective, and many others.
Ms. Ray’s unique sound blends into a tool with a world perspective, as she endeavors to share her story, and inspire others to do the same.
What she's doing now
Currently, she is working on her duo project SIMRAY alongside her husband, prolific drummer Patrick Simard, taking influences from classical, jazz, rock, electronic, and traditional Haitian music.
Women of the World is a collective of innovative musicians from across the globe. With members representing Japan, Italy, India, Haiti, Canada, Iran, Israel, and the United States of America, the 4-piece core ensemble performs folk and traditional music in 31 of the world's languages.
